Nibi
“Nibi” (Nibi translates to “water” in Anishinaabemowin)
Nibi is a black-bay gelding living at Grace Equestrian Centre. Our founder, Denise Atkinson, bought Nibi in February, 2021 from TJ Stables in Southern Ontario. Nibi was born at TJ Stables in 2018. His dam (mother) is Zhgaag “Skunk”, and his sire (father) is Tchibe.
Nibi is a quiet, calm pony with a confident personality. He is also very expressive and likes to be a little sassy at times. This Ojibwe Pony shows interest in natural horsemanship, and has been worked with in groundwork clinics. With such a kind and soft temperament, Nibi would be a suitable candidate to be in the lesson program at Grace Equestrian Centre after some training.
Nibi loves to eat branches off of trees, as the wild Ojibwe Spirit Horses have done for hundreds of years. His favorite thing to do is to be with his paddock mates, and to take afternoon naps in the shade of the trees in his field.
